I built this blog with AI & Sparrow CMS.

A short note on how this site came to be — and why a researcher in 2026 still bothers to keep her own blog.

For a researcher, a personal site means having a say in what's said about you online. The institutional profile is written by the rector's office, the ResearchGate page by ResearchGate. Here it's me — and when something interests me, I can write about it now, not when somebody releases a template.

The site is built on Sparrow CMS — an open-source system on top of Wagtail and Django. It gives me full control over content and layout, no ads, no dark patterns, hosted by me. The editorial look — the “newspaper” setting, the typographic masthead, the figure numbers above sections — was drafted by AI in an evening I'd otherwise have spent planning for a week.

The writing stays mine. AI is a good collaborator for literature review, refactoring, layout, the first kick — not for thinking. That, I hope, will keep showing.

The point isn't to write more, but to keep one thing I occasionally want to say in one place. We'll see. ✦
